At the end of a dirt road, down by a riverbank, a collection of local artisans, small businesses and vendors are gathering to share their goods, services, crafts and passions at the Batten Road Market. Rush & Ramble is teaming up with Barnes Bedlam to host the Batten Road Market on Saturday, May 19 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Attendees can enter to win one of multiple giveaways, participate in mini workshops, and enjoy a riverfront view as they shop and support small businesses, local vendors, and work from home moms. Shoppers will also be supporting the Morning Star School. Select vendors are donating a portion of sales from the market to the school. Attendees can also opt to make a donation to Morning Star School for additional entries in one of multiple chance drawings. Morning Star School in Jacksonville, Florida serves children in Kindergarten through 12th grade with learning differences, attention deficit disorders, autism spectrum disorders, and mild intellectual disabilities. Morning Star School is fully accredited by the Florida Catholic Conference, and is the only special education school in the Diocese of St. Augustine.

Go behind-the-scenes and below-the-decks of Marineland Dolphin Adventure! Their Behind the Seas Tour offers an exclusive backstage look at our facility and animal habitats, and an opportunity to explore their unique and fascinating history spanning over 75 years.

From their beginnings as an underwater film studio to their new, modern facility, Marineland Dolphin Adventure has been creating memories for generations. Along with their many advancements over the years, guests will learn about Marineland’s pioneering work in aquatic animal research and advancement of life support systems for aquatic environments. 

The Behind the Seas tour also features new exhibits with animals native to the Southeast region of the United States, and an opportunity to learn the importance of the Gulf Stream, ecosystems and conservation. Guests will also discover facts about invasive species and their effects on aquatic populations along the eastern seaboard, such as lion fish, green moray eels, jellyfish and lobsters. 

Pricing (includes General Admission):
Adult (ages 13-59): $26.95
Child (ages 3-12): $16.95
Seniors (ages 60+): $25.95

Length of tour: approximately 45 minutes. Daily tours run at 10 a.m, 11 a.m., 12 p.m., 1 p.m., 2 p.m. & the final tour runs at 3:20 p.m.

Fridays, Saturdays, & Sundays Historic Weapons Demonstrations
Castillo de San Marcos- 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. and at 1:30, 2:30 and 3:30 p.m.

 National Parks Service personnel demonstrate the weapons and relate the experiences of the Colonial Spanish soldier stationed in St. Augustine in 1740′s. Demonstration times are 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. and at 1:30, 2:30 and 3:30 p.m. throughout the year. Firing times are subject to change depending on weather conditions and staff availability. The Castillo de San Marcos, the oldest masonry fortification in the U.S., was built by the Spanish in 1672 to help protect their empire in the New World.

Admission is $10 for adults- valid for 7 consecutive days. Children 15 and under are free but must be accompanied by an adult.

 The Castillo is open 8:45 a.m. – 5:15 p.m. daily. Castillo de San Marcos , Avenida Menendez, St. Augustine, FL 32084

TrailMark’s SummerPalooza is a summer season celebration!

Free and fun for everyone, SummerPalooza will feature food trucks, live music and games for all ages. SummerPalooza promises an incredible day with a plant sale, a farmer’s market and live music from the TJ Brown Band. Games include Monkey Motion bungee rides, Human Hamster Balls, a 70’ Mega Obstacle Course, a 22’ Double Lane Giant Slide and Foot Darts. There will be Amazing Face Painting by Linda, prizes, giveaways and more.

Enjoy a special display by the Southeast’s most famous Chainsaw Carver, Chris Lantz of Extreme Sculpting. Food trucks on site include What’s Smokin BBQ, Mother Truckin Pizza, Alma Fusion and Kona Ice. Explore TrailMark’s parks and trails, full amenities center with beach-entry pool and spectacular model homes in the nature-first community, the first of its kind in St. Johns County.

Tolomato Cemetery Tours
Cordova Street, 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. every 3rd Saturday of the month.

Explore the historic markers at the oldest existing cemetery in Florida. The self-guided and docent led tours are from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. every 3rd Saturday of the month. The Tolomato Cemetery, an historic cemetery, is located on Cordova Street, the site of an earlier Franciscan Indian mission (Our Lady of Guadalupe of the Tolomato) in St Augustine. Burials officially ceased in 1884.

Visits are free of charge but donations are encouraged. All money goes to the preservation and restoration of the cemetery.

Selected works produced during the 2018 St. Augustine Plein Air Paint Out are featured in the main gallery. These original works capture the historic, coastal and architectural beauty of the nation’s oldest city. The exhibition is free and open to the public. 

The gallery is open Tuesday to Saturday noon-4 p.m. and Sunday 2-5 p.m.
