An Amazing Find in St. Augustine

Shopping in St. Augustine is always fun as there are so many unique shops throughout the city. My recent visit to the Artsy Abode & So Mermazing shops on King St., made for quite an entertaining outing!

Artsy Abode JewelryI hit the Artsy Abode store first. Upon entering, I was entirely immersed in color and whimsy. Brightly painted accent furniture; from tables and lamps to gilded mirrors and picture frames were arranged throughout the room. Vivid displays of jewelry sparkled enticingly next to a displays of colorful Jack Rogers sandals. Function + fun is always a good combination in my book.

Knick-knacks and wine glasses winked in the sunlight & I walked the shop, lost in my happy place. So much to look at; each area of the shop had it’s own treasures. A multitude of souvenirs from moving sand art in frames to wine glasses with blown glass animals on the stems, to t-shirts and greeting cards were waiting to be looked over.

And there was this wall of clocks. What a collection of clocks this store has! Not just plain old clocks- no these clocks scream whimsy! Clocks like you’ve never seen before. From flying pigs, hot air balloons, trains and tea cups to cows, dogs, cats and even a cat-maid. (Think a cat with a mermaid’s tail here) There are so many to choose from, that you’re sure to find one that you just have to take home. I should know- took home a cute yellow cat clock.

The So Mermazing shop is located right next door to Artsy Abode. Think Mermaids… all things mermaid. This cute boutique store is small, but filled with a surprisingly large amount of merchandise. From jewelry to t-shirts and hats to clocks and cute souvenirs-and did I mention it is all mermaid themed? What’s not to love?!

The staff at both stores a friendly & eager to please. They greet you upon entering & will happily answer any questions you have about their products & even questions about the area. If you’re looking for a gift, but don’t know what it is exactly, the staff will show you around the store & try to help point you in the right direction.

If by chance, you can’t make it into the actual bricks & mortar store, no worries- they’re both online as well. You can visit them at &

I highly recommend visiting these stores on your next visit to St. Augustine and add a bit of whimsy to your day. You won’t regret it.
