Enjoy our traditional French home cuisine prepared by Chef Jean Stephane Poinard. He is a 5th generation Chef direct from Lyon, France where he has perfected the art of French home cuisine,“la cuisine de meres’, in his five restaurants. Chef Poinard is one of the honored chefs invited into the elite fraternity of Les Toques Blanches Lyonnaises and is a certified member of the Oldest Best Chef’s Association of France. Together with his wife Valerie, a winemaker from the Domaine de la Fond Moiroux and his young children Jean-Sebastian and Margaux, Chef Poinard has realized his dream to bring the flavor of France to the United States. St. Augustine’s quaint village atmosphere is a fitting location for a family restaurant where you can take a moment to relax and enjoy his fine cuisine. After you dine, you may imagine, as you embark upon the Plaza, that perhaps you have captured a touch of Europe and certainly a ‘taste of France’. We hope while you are our guests that you will enjoy the ‘French way’ of dining. You will notice there are subtle differences. In France a meal is to be enjoyed not hurried – the cuisine is the main attraction! Chef Poinard chooses the freshest local seafood, herbs and produce. In his kitchen there is no assembly line or frozen fast food…only fresh, delightfully prepared dishes. By the way, if you hear singing from his kitchen, you have made the Chef happy!
