St. Patrick’s Day Parade
Downtown- Saturday, March 11, 2017, 10 a.m.

10 a.m., parade will route throughout downtown and end at Francis Field just as the Celtic Music & Heritage Festival begins.

The St. Patrick’s Day Parade is an annual celebration of St. Augustine’s Celtic heritage and the Emerald Isle’s most revered saint.  With over 1,000 participants and thousands of spectators, lads and lasses converge upon the Ancient City each year, donning their tartans and green attire.  Did you know that the wearin’ o’ the green was outlawed in the 18th Century England?  Seen as a form of rebellion, the wearing of shamrocks was a crime punishable by hanging.

The St. Augustine St. Patrick Day Parade follows a route throughout downtown and ends at Francis Field just as the Celtic Music & Heritage Festival begins.

7th Annual St. Augustine Celtic Music & Heritage Festival
Francis Field, March 11 – 12, 2017
11 a.m. – 10 p.m. on Saturday & 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. on Sunday

The sounds of the ancient Celtic peoples of Scotland and Ireland are as alive today as ever in America’s Oldest CELTIC City at the St. Augustine Celtic Music & Heriage Festival, March 10-12, 2017 at Francis Field on Castillo Drive.

Find the CELT in YOU as you take in the sights, sounds and tastes of centuries of European history in the “Nation’s Oldest City” – founded in 1565 by SPANISH CELTS. Celtic Clans show their ancestral pride, Highland Games athletes demonstrate their mind-boggling strength, vendors offer up Celtic cuisine and hand-made crafts, and the St. Patrick’s Day Parade marches through the streets of the Ancient City’s Historic District.

But the hands-down favorite of the St. Augustine Celtic Festival is the music.

The Festival has been praised as “Arguably the finest collaboration of Celtic artists assembled in the United States!” Bands from Scotland, Ireland, Canada and around the U.S. play both traditional tunes and Celtic rock throughout the two-day festival. We’re talking Scots-born Albannach and Ireland’s Dublin City Ramblers just to name a few, attracting fans from throughout Florida and Georgia, all over the US, and from Canada to Scotland.
